"We do not have a 'one size fits all' mentality. Everyone has individual needs and these are fully respected."

Home at Heart is a boutique, family owned Ottawa company founded on the principles of superior understanding and care, where we take great pride in offering the very best attention to the needs of our families. We genuinely understand that things change as we age and we welcome the opportunity to work with families and current care providers to help with the transition of care needs. We believe in privacy and respect and we do our utmost to ensure that expectations are met with kindness and courtesy; we are personal, open, non-judgmental and always working with your best interests at heart. We promise that.

Our aim is to support you in your home and help you retain your independence. Our services are not just for seniors; we are also here to help anyone who needs assistance in the home through disability, illness or injury. Everyone has their own, individual needs and these are understood and fully respected. What sets us apart from others is our genuine, compassionate approach, our listening, our understanding and our promise that we will go above and beyond to see you receive the service and care that you require. We do not have a 'one-size fits all' mentality; we know from our own experiences dealing with elderly family that everyone is different and their needs change frequently. We can offer customized plans tailored to what you specifically need.

Services for you:

So often there's uncertainty when there's change. You understand that you do need help, but admitting and accepting it is hard. There may be some frustration, especially if family members are making suggestions and you feel overwhelmed or anxious.  Home at Heart offers the opportunity to discuss your needs and concerns with absolutely no obligation to move forward with service. We have no contracts* and our only request is a minimum two-hour visit. Often, a couple of hours a week assistance is all that's needed to get you back on track, to make a significant impact and to enable you to still live at home enjoyably and safely.

All of our caregivers are mature ladies and gentlemen (aged 40 plus), and all are trained, throughly screened, background checked, in possession of personal liability and theft insurance and all have a current, clean police records check for the vulnerable sector. We also place great emphasis on continuity of care, so you will have the same person visit with you each time**.

Services for family members:

Life is very busy and despite our best intentions it is not always possible to do everything. You may be out of town, or juggling your own commitments along with work and family. Your parents are first and foremost in your mind but you cannot physically continue doing what you're doing. Or, you may realize now is the time for them to benefit from some outside assistance and company. Please let us help you. Call us to discuss your needs, even if you don't know where to start! We will listen and guide you and would welcome any opportunity to meet with you and/or your family to gently introduce ourselves and our approach to care. There is no obligation. And if services do start, we can provide regular reports or updates on care to ensure full peace of mind.

* a client agreement/information exchange is needed before services can start

** barring any sickness or pre-planned vacation
